Despite allegedly having had major restoration work carried out in the 1970's and 1980's including plate restoration and ceiling plate renewal, this building was in a pretty poor state when we arrived. In fact it was in such bad condition it could well have fallen down and would almost certainly have been condemned by a building instpector.

Architectural stone cleaning on a Grade Two Listed Building which encompassed special soft abrasives, chemical cleaning and power washing to avoid damage to the one and a half century old brickwork and soft sandstone details.
Interestingly, the building featured the first ever window frames made by Crittall. These pieces of gunmetal architectural hardware are absolutely priceless and had to be preserved at all costs.
